Motithang Takin Preserve (Motithang District, Thimphu) – a Takin is an indigenous Bhutanese animal that looks like a cross between a cow and a goat. This reserve was created especially for this endangered animal after the zoo that houses them was discontinued. This is a densely forested reserve that takes you close to the wilderness and the lives of these quaint species. This is one of the most popular things to do in Thimpu for nature lovers. Admission: Nu. 50 per person. Hours: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (Tuesday – Sunday), closed on Monday.
